Coming to end of year

Year end is often a time to reflect what we had gone through the entire year. So what have i done this whole year?? And what have you done?? Anything impressive or just another boring year??

Lets see. The most impressive happening i can think of will be the number of times i have travelled this year. Been to china, vietnam, genting, taiwan and cruise on Star Virgo. Thats about all i have been to this year. Not impressive but enjoyable.  :p

Another big decision i have made will be to start my degree course. Some will say ‘so old le then take up degree course’. But to me, nothing is ever too old to take up, as late is better than never, right??

Oh ya, oops. I missed out quitting my job as one of the major decisions i have made this whole year. heee. Now, getting myself a job is a main priority too. :p

Year end is also a time to plan for the new year.  What do i intend next year?? First, to find a job if i havnt find it by this year. 2ndly, more travel plans!! Hee. I guess travelling is really a motivator for me in life. I will always look forward for a trip either with friends or family. The main reason maybe attributed by the size of singapore and the no. of things u can do here. The usual hangouts will be drinking, watching movies, having dinner, singing ktv, playing mahjong etc. After a while, i am starting to feel bored when having such events unless its a group gathering with friends i havnt been meeting.  3rdly, more studies to come. I should be able to graduate in 2011 is all goes well. So travel plans are to be made around the breaks in between modules. Hee. Already made plans to go Australia in Feb 2010 after i done with my spring module. :p

Wish next year will be a better year than this year. Yes, i know all people will wish for such things. Anyway, the most important thing apart from the things we have to do is to be HAPPY ALWAYS!! Always is ideal, as often as possible should be desirably attained!! I wish for happiness to bestowed to everyone i know including myself!!!! Hee.

idling, Idling & IDLING

I am idling at home after my last day has been brought forward to 3rd Nov. After submitting assignment on 9th Nov, i am a free woman. Hehehe

However, I have been sick since last wednesday till now. Serious flu, cold, cough + everything else.. sob sob.. Hope i will get well fast. And i am able to go ktv and have hotpot!! ehehehe

Still looking for a job, not in any real urgency, however, do not wish to idle for too long.

Miss talking to my close colleagues, havnt been seeing them for a week. Supposed to schedule a dinner with them, but cos i was sick, still have not schedule a date yet. Will do so soon.

Alot of errands to run!! Brought doggie for grooming, then need to bring him for yearly vaccine. Didnt realise that w/out a job, i have more errands to run!! hahahaah..

Final assignments for this semester

Its only final assignments for this semester. Am doing the final 2 to be submitted on 9Nov. Then i will be a free person!! Yipee!!

NO JOB + NO SCHOOL!! (at least till 23 Nov when new semester starts again) hehe

Joking with some of my jobless friends that we can start to job search in the morning then start mj in the afternoon..hahhaa.. then eventually can become ‘professional’ mj players..whahahahah

No $$ how to mj every time?? Later no $$ to pay then face also lose lor..hehehe..

Anyway, just wish that i have some ideas in doing the current assignments. Date due soon but i am still at para 1 of just one of the assignments. :(

But then again, i chose to walk this path so i must GAMBATE!!

Decision made

I have finally made a decision to leave my current company. My last day will be on 11th Nov 09. Since this job is the cause of all unhappiness, then maybe leaving it will do me good??

3rd and final assignment for these 2 modules have started. Deadline is 9Nov. Trying very hard to understand what the notes are trying to convey to me. I have difficulty understanding some quite technical stuff especially air transportation. I hope that i will be able to pass these 2 assignments and WALA!! i will be able to pass these modules!! hehehehe Not getting good grades, but just managed to pass.

After 9nov, I should be able to get a good rest as there will be no job cum assignment for the time being. However, took up Maritime Economics for the spring semester which is a short semester from Nov – Jan 2010. So there will still be assignments coming along.

As for job, will try to look for one along the way. Preference given to shipping-related jobs. If really unable to find, then maybe will consider getting a part time job to tide over bad times. My main concern is the monthly car installments and petrol. Other than that, the rest are quite manageable as i can cut down on eating out and going out.

For the rest and freedom i have chosen, i wish happiness for myself!!! :)

True and not true to certain extent. Just believing doesn’t make miracles happen. It’s the actions done to make miracles happen. I wish i can just sit at home and wait for $$ to drop from the sky (it is a miracle!!). However, such things will never happen if you don’t work. No work = no $$.

Therefore, this sentence is questionable. However, we are not here to debate on such issues. HAHA

Recently, have been unhappy at work, felt that a lot of things are not smooth. Then again, life is never smooth sailing right?? But can i not have so much unsmooth things happening all at one time?? It sucking life from me. Now, i feel very unmotivated to go work, to do things, meet friends, shopping etc etc etc. Since when did i become like that?? Do i have a problem with coping?? That i have no answer myself.

I never thought that $$ will drop from the sky. Neither do i think that i should be rewarded without working. But can i be willful and stop working now?? I really feel very tired of such life now. I just want to rest for a while before i decide to charge again.

Men just slog their way at work the moment they stepped into working society. How many people can enjoy the luxury of resting between jobs?? Other than clearing leave from previous job and before starting the new one. I too do not have such luxury since a long time ago. Really feel like doing it now. Rest for a period then start searching. Next question: Can you afford to do so?? Cos no work = no $$, remember?? But just how much is considered enough?? For me, the most important thing is to be able to pay my monthly car instalment and petrol. If i have enough savings to tide me through the period which i rest, then i guess i can be willful w/out being a burden to anyone.

People with no LIFE!!

I hate people with no life!! They can be so free that every little thing others did is a problem to them. They can be best described as the pests i hate most - 小强 -  打不完也打不死!! Hiding in one corner and peeping at every action you made, eavesdropping on your conversation if possible. To the extent of noticing what outfit you don for work everyday!!!

They are so horrible that i cant wait to use my slippers and slap them in their face like how i would like a cockroach to die…

Assignments and more assignments

Just started a degree course in maritime mgt. This course has got no exams (some may think its good), but I totally disagree!!! I hate doing assignments. I rather have exams because exams you only need to read, remember and ‘vomit’ out when exam date is due. But assignment is different, a lot of research needed, reading needed, understanding of question needed, putting all that you have learnt and absorbed into a report needed, references from books needed, laptop IS A MUST!!

I am the type who can’t concentrate on doing assignment at home. So the best way is to find some cafe or macdonalds and use their wireless for info searching. Therefore, a laptop is a MUST!! But i feel tat my laptop is getting heavier..hehe.. thought of buying a new and better one. because afterall, i have 12 x 3 assignments each = 36 – 2 submitted = 34 assignments more to do!!! *fainted*

Feeling super stressed, but have to 硬着头皮 and finish this course asap. i.e. 2 years if agw. :(

Emotional waves swept through this morning…

Read from forum on feelings/affection towards someone, found some of the posts very interesting, very true, yet very saddening. Saddening?? Because its every girl’s dream to find such a man.

In every relationship, the man must fight to keep the woman by his side. He has to earn her, so to speak, rather than think that he has this given entitlement to have her permanently ever since she agreed to enter a relationship with him.
I think men and women in society, in general, place too much emphasis on whichever party that initiates a break up, slandering them with connotations of unfaithfulness, insincerity, inappreciative-ness etc.

Sweet right?? But then again, how many guys in this world is able to perform like above?? Very very very very very few…. Even if there are such available, mostly were taken. (Not that it matters alot to me, just a thought)

Love is a mystery. We embrace it where we can. Mostly we do not choose whom we love. It just happens. A voice speaks to us, in ways the ear cannot hear. We recognise a beauty that the eyes does not see. We experience a change in our hearts that no voice can describe.

Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel, "How could you have let this happen?" "The first man had everything, yet you helped him," she accused. "The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You just might not know it until some time later...

Gaming fever??

Just got a DS Lite (i know it maybe obsolete as the new DSi is out already). However, didnt know this gadget is more complicated than PSP in terms of playing d/loaded games.

Had my PSP mod-ed, therefore games from online or from frens can easily be uploaded to the memory stick via USB cable. However, for DS Lite, there is no mod version. We can only buy the flash card available in market. Plus, with a micro sd card slot for the memory card then can we start to uploaded on the card to play d/loaded games or games from friends.

However, now getting used to it, and with only 1 game  on hand now. I can focus on completing it before buying the flash card. :)

It’s when i started asking around abt DS Lite that i realised most of the pple ard are playing PSP instead of DS Lite. A colleague is even going to lend me his HDD with full of games to chose. Hahaha..

No time at all!!! With the new DS Lite and PSP games that i am goin to have. OMG!!!

Drinking week

Visited quite a few drinking places last week (New Asia Bar, Velvet & Pump room). Wed is cos i feel like drinking, Thurs cos colleague was thr n then Fri cos of poly fren’s bday. :)

Havnt been drinking consecutively for a long long long time. Kinda missed it, yet hated it. Hahaha.. cos always not enough sleep!!! Especially when it is a working day the next day. :(

Shouldnt be drinking that much from now onwards.. Y?? cos not many pple bday!! haahahah..

Travel plans for 2009

Hehe.. I love to travel… Always wanted to go here or go there… Though nvr to very far but at least it beats staying in sg all the time.

This year, was only planning to go China and one more long trip (eg. Australia). End up now i have more travel plans than expected. Yipee!!! Very happy abt it.

1) China in Jan (been and back)

2) Vietnam in May (pay deposit already.. hehee)

3) Bangkok in July (bought budget airline tix during their promo.. :p)

4) Taipei in August (also during budget airline promo)

5) If i can go one more country(other than Malaysia) from Sept – Dec, I will be a super happy person in 2009. :p

Now have to save alot harder than usual so that the above trips wont burn my wallet. Overall, i think its still ok as the air tix for Bangkok and Taipei are very cheap. It only cost me $100++ for Bangkok and $300 for Taipei which i feel is very good promo. But then again, now hotel is a problem. Hope to find good and reasonable priced hotels in both places so that my expenses wont be shooting high for tat mth… hehehe

おくりびと – ‘Sender’. Literal meaning is a person who sees someone else off (eg. at the airport). But in this show, the sender is an occupation for sending off the dead.

It’s a very touching show. It reflected how people view this occupation and will touch on things we seldom/dun wan to talk about like death and funerals etc…

Also, this movie has gotten Oscar’s ‘Best Foreign Film’ award. Worth watching. :)

Fustrations

vexed and getting more vexed as days gone by. fustrated with myself for not having the knowledge i wanna have yet has no way of finding out unless u know someone in that profession, which i don't. not sure how the problem can be solved except to wait and see.

25 Random facts about me

1. I am an only child(not only daughter but only child). I dislike people who just got to know me, know that i m only child and say 'awwww, so nice. must be parents' pet.' They dunno the stress an only child has to carry.

2. I am considered an introvert. If i didnt talk to you when i first know you, pls give me time. Or better, pls come n talk to me. I need time to warm up to pple i have just known.

3. Had public caning when i was in Pri 2 cos i was caught splashing water at classmates when we were at the 'brushing teeth session' my sch implemented. I am sure most of my pri sch friends will rem. haha

4. Had short hair for the first 18yrs of my life till i was forced to let it grow long. When i was in primary six, provision shop uncle still mistook me as 'ah boy'. Sob Sob... Now with long hair, cant bear to cut it anymore.. hehe

5. I have phobia staying underwater cos i almost drowned at a pool when i was young. Supposed to take swimming lessons during Primary 3 or 4, signed up, but didnt even try going since 1st lesson.

6. I also have phobia of height too. Taking cable car, sg flyer, skyride @ Sentosa and DHL balloon will make me very nervous till i wanna go home n giving up taking the ride. But as usual, my friends wil be there to encourage me. hahaha

7. I am in contact with most primary sch frens compared to 1 or 2 secondary sch frens.

8. I have 3 best friends, of which 2 are quite sotong. Haha. You know who you are. :p

9. Most pple said that i resembles my dad than my mum. What say you?

10. I have 2 very close cousins - 1 older than me 7yrs, 1 younger by 10yrs. We are not blood related but very close.

11. I love to watch drama series. i.e. Hong Kong, Japanese, Taiwanese(some), local(some), but not really into Korean. :) My first Japanese series was Ah Shin, watched with my mum when i was still a little kid.

12. I didnt know what is or how to do cross-stitch till primary 5 or 6 when our Maths teacher, Mrs Quek taught me so.

13. I am a procrastinator. Will tend to delay doing things. I am trying to change over the years. :( I won't say there is no improvement at all, just very SLOW in changing.

14. Started learning piano when i was 5, gave up when i reached Grade 5. A pity, but cant seem to bring myself to start learning again. Love music(singing & listening to songs), just not so into playing piano.

15. I love driving. Used to drive alone to all parts of Singapore when i just got my license. Now still love to drive, but long distance only when i go into M'sia. Cos the petrol is super expensive in Singapore.

16. Dislike the idea of using phone. Be it with friends or with customers, prefer to meet up face to face. Think i have used too much phone during my pri and sec sch days. Now phobia. Haha.

17. I am taking Japanese since my poly days. However, I am still at intermediate level. Stopped on and off over the years due to other commitments, never use the language much, therefore all forgotten. So its better to start at lower level to brush up on fundamentals. Wish to take my JLPT 2 soon.....

18. I stopped eating pork for at least 6-7yrs already. Pls do not ask why. Also, i am not married to Muslim nor am Muslim.

19. I love all the cute cute stuff, especially disney related items. Be it snowglobes, figuries, cups etc etc.., i just love them all.

20. Love to read manga!! Got a bad habit of reading the manga only when the whole set has finished. Dun like to read halfway, then gotta wait a long time for the next book to come.

21. Have a doggie named Rudolph. Named him that cos when young, he had red nose, but when he grew older, his nose no longer reddish. Hahaha. Love him so much!! He is a Pomeranian, going to be 4yrs old this June.

22. I love to travel to countries i nvr been to. However, i get motion sickness easily, so any country more than 8hrs is a little difficult for me. :(

23. Started clubbing at 18yrs old. Went non-stop for 10yrs. Haha.. Still love to drink now, but seldom at clubs anymore. Now is more of chill out n relax places. Or at least ktv pubs whr me n my friends can sing and drink at the same time. :)

24. Quite a forgetful and 'sotong' person. Tend to forget some details along the way. But there are distinctive memories that i will always remember. :p

25. Still in contact with my group of classmates who took Japanese with me many years ago. But most stopped. Hope to meet up sooner than just once a year. :(

Lousy handphone!!

Upgraded my handphone last April. Decided to change to Nokia 6550. Realized its a wrong choice. :(

I was using it one day, in the midst of keying a SMS, and off it went and the hp was off and died. The next moment i realised i cant on it anymore. OMG!! I realised my 200++ existing SMS + ALL my contacts gone!!! Sob Sob... :(

Brought it to Nokia Care Center for servicing. Phone done, but have not collected it yet. Going to check out the trade-in value for this phone and going to get rid of it soonest!!! Arrrggghhh!!!

Anyway, got myself a new phone.. hehehe.. A Sony Ericsson W595. Hope this phone wont give me problem till the time i can upgrade my contract. :p

Finally back in Singapore!!

Yipee!! I am finally back in Singapore after being stucked in China for extra 4 days. Everyday in China was cold, colder n colder. The higher we went, the colder it gets. Coldest went to abt -10 degrees!!

Never had i felt so good to be back in Singapore after all the trips i ever had except this one. Hahaha.. But nvrtheless, scenery was nice, food slightly too oily n salty, pple = no comments and weather too cold!!! hahaha

Preparation for China Trip

oh no!!! I havnt even start packing a single stuff yet!!! hahahaha

at least i know i will be borrowing a jacket from fren this saturday. Things to bring?? Not sure.... Only know that i super scared of coldness, so must bring thick jackets or shld i jus buy long johns??

Looking at the Yahoo weather page almost daily to be updated of the temperature there. Now still fluctuating between 3-15 degrees. Eh, for me, thats quite cold already... :(

2009 - A bad year??

I hope not. Mum told me that this coming year Goat will 犯太岁, i was quite sian already. It means luck in many ways will not be good. I supposed that will incl. meeting some 小人 along the way... :(

But the thing is, its not even CNY yet and i am meeting 小人s already. :(

Bad bad bad.........

With the economy downturn, everyone spending lesser to save up, everywhere else looks gloomy, i still have to handle 小人??!!
